#ship #mail #arica #sanpedrodeatacama I am a foreigner and used STARKEN to mail a suitcase to myself from Arica to San Pedro de Atacama. Apparently it is cheaper than Chile Express but a bit slower. The first time I went there to ask about schedules and prices, they said that there was an agency in San Pedro de Atacama. When I returned the next day to deliver my suitcase, they said that there was NO agency. (Believe it or not, this was the very same guy who said there was one agency the day before!). He said that the machine disabled the locations sometimes due to “X” or “Y” reasons. Yeah right! His solution was that I had to send it to Calama, where they had an agency (100km from San Pedro) and pick it up. For me, “his solution” represented one lost day doing that! Later we deal with Yoselin Aranda (front desk worker) and she is a pain in the butt to deal with. I’m a foreigner and she acted like I knew all about their system. However, after they checked the bag due to a custom control, I decided to go with her on the desk and she asked if I wanted it to be delivered or picked up. My friend said delivered and out of the sudden San Pedro was available again. She didn’t offer any options, it was just my friends smart choice to say to deliver it. Bottom line, they do not have an agency in San Pedro de Atacama but you can ask for your package to be delivered to your hotel. If there’s no one who can receive it for you, then you would have to go to Calama. It was a 25kg duffle bag, they charged 13,170 Chilean pesos. Arrived on the latest expected arrival date around 6pm. So they are a good and reliable company. You can track your package online and call them to ask where it is. We mailed it on a Friday evening and got it by Wednesday. I give it a 4 star because of their lack of good customer attention. They should know where they have agencies and offer real solutions to their customers.
